Voyage Creative Nonfiction Prize

There’s no story like a true story! Do you have a creative nonfiction piece that speaks to the teen experience, and is told from a teenager’s point of view? We’d love to read it!

Guidelines

Voyage simply aims to publish good work and provide a space for new and established voices. To get an idea of what we publish, please read our archives. General submissions are open year-round and there is no fee to submit to our general categories. We only accept submissions via our online submission managing system, Submittable. We DO NOT accept submissions via email. Submissions sent via email will automatically be discarded without a response. We accept simultaneous submissions, but please withdraw your work via Submittable if it is accepted elsewhere.

Fiction: Please send YA stories of up to 6,000 words or fewer. We are looking for stories that surprise, inspire, entertain, or enlighten.

Creative Nonfiction: We’re on the hunt for personal essays and other creative nonfiction that specifically relates to the teen experience.

Manuscript Preparation: Please make sure your manuscript is double-spaced Times New Roman 12. Submissions should be no more than 6,000 words. Please include the author name and page number in the top right-hand corner of every page.

The Voyage Team always wants to see more short fiction writers celebrated in the YA category. So, naturally, we’re dedicating a portion of our next anthology to short-form YA stories and all their glory! We want compelling YA short stories in 5,000 words or fewer. Send us your best YA contemporary, romance, fantasy, science fiction, genre-bender, and more!
 

Voyage accepts submissions year-round and published pieces can be found on our website, accessible to everyone for free.​​
